Ithaca Fest, Reading Wromie, etc.

Taking selfies in Walmart, like you do.

Random anecdote: The past few times I've gotten Theo to look at my belly as the baby is moving around, he's said, "Ruby come out?" And I have to tell him that we need to wait a while longer before she can come out and play.  I'm so happy to know that he's excited to meet her!

Speaking of my belly moving, I feel like I can SEE Ruby moving around a lot more than I could with Theo. Maybe it's a second baby thing.  Anyways, it definitely has gotten Corbin's attention more this time around.  He's wondered aloud to me why people talk about feeling the baby kick, and not seeing it kick.  It's true that it looks like some kind of alien trapped inside.  The other day, our friend (who is single and probably hasn't had much experience around pregnant women) was over jamming with Corbin.  I was in the living room with them, reading away, when Ruby really started to rumba.  Corbin saw, and pointed it out to our friend. The look on his face was priceless, because I'm pretty sure he was freaked out. Heck, I don't blame him.

After testing out the summer hat, Theo needed to take pictures in the hat he brought from home.

The thing we're working on with Theo lately is wh- questions.  I noticed that he just says, "ah going?" or "ah doing?" I figure with a little coaching, he'll have his questions down! Then I won't hear the end of it for years to come.

This summer's reading wormie doesn't get a prize list, because last summer's prizes never got cashed in, although we'd earned them.  I think Corbin's and my intrinsic value from reading is high enough, though, to keep us motivated.  But this picture is already outdated, I'm up to 4 circles!

Theo got his own pair of beautiful scissors, and he is a cutting fiend!  He's very respectful of cutting only paper, and he works so hard at it.  I sure love that man.

We've been rocking the science center a lot lately. He keeps me running, but how else would I get my exercise?

Another random anecdote: my hair dryer died last week. Mom, remember the dryer that you let me take to college back in 2006? That one. I am so proud of that little thing lasting for so long.

The Ithaca festival was last weekend.  For the Ithaca Festival Parade, we had dinner and watched it with our lovely friend Sara (who happens to live right on the parade route) and a few other people from the Branch.  It was so so so much fun, and wow, The made out like a bandit. Among the swag that he got handed was a full sized hula hoop, a nice jump rope, candy and stickers, a whistle and kazoo... I was amazed.  We almost couldn't carry it all back to the car!

The following day, Theo and I met Corbin on the bus and went downtown to party!  The only event I wanted to see was Nate and Kate, followed by Nate the Great (two performances for kids). I may have enjoyed it more than Theo, but who's counting?

Nate the Great does juggling, and below you'll see a picture of his finale, juggling fire!  I was dually impressed, because it was a million degrees that day, and he'd already been performing for at least an hour and a half.  We had a fun time, and by the time we made it home, everyone was wiped out!

My little sister Kellie is getting married two weeks from today!  Which means that one week from today we will be in beautiful Redlands, CA.  I am so excited, and I can't stop daydreaming of all the fun things were going to do, and all the El Burrito I'm going to eat!
